If you think you may need a prescription medicine, please make an appointment with the doctor. Our practice nurse/nurse practitioner can also issue prescriptions for common ailments. If you have previously been given a prescription for a straightforward condition, such as hay fever, we may be able to issue a prescription after a telephone consultation. Please ask the receptionist. Your local pharmacist should be able to give you advice for non-prescription medication.
Our on site pharmacy (Lloyds) is able to provide advice and treatment for a range of minor ailments. Treatment is free if you are eligible for free prescriptions under the NHS, without having to see a doctor.
Repeat prescriptions are normally for patients with long-term conditions who receive regular treatment. Your doctor (or nurse practitioner) will decide who can have a repeat presecription.
Repeat Prescriptions can be ordered in several ways:
Wherever possible please give the exact drug names when ordering. You will find this on the packaging which you medication comes in.
Please allow at least 48 hours before collection at reception (see times below). Alternatively, you can leave a stamped, self-addressed envelope and we will post the prescription to you.
Collection times are: 8.00-8.30am, 11.30-1.00pm, or 5.00-6.00pm to avoid busy periods but the practice is open 8.00am - 8.00pm
In line with our repeat medication policy, you will be asked to see your doctor or nurse practitioner for a review of your medication. We do this to monitor your illness and make sure you are on the correct medication.
Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.
