We endeavour to deal with your query as efficiently and speedily as possible, so please be as helpful as you can. Remember that the receptionist is trying to provide the best service that the practice can offer for you and all other patients.
How to See a Doctor
The doctor’s work in a partnership and are happy to see any registered patient, regardless of which doctor’s name is on your medical card. This enables medical care to continue even if your doctor is absent; however, please try and consult with the same doctor for each episode of illness where possible.
Appointments
The practice is participating in the NHS’ national agenda to help improve access to GP’s and nurses.
Evening and weekend appointments are now available
We are now part of Caritas Primary Care Network.
Our Primary Care network Hubs are:
- Cape Hill Medical Centre, Raglan Road, Smethwick B66 3NR
- Hill Top Surgery, 15 Hill Top Road, Oldbury B68 9DU
- Rood End Surgery, 182-184 Vicarage Road, Oldbury B68 9DU
You can now book an appointment at your local hub to see a GP, Nurse or other healthcare professions in the evening or at the weekend.

Online
Appointments can be made online via EMIS Access 24 hrs a day. Please contact the surgery for details.
By Telephone
Please contact the surgery on: 0121 558 2613 between 8.00am and 6.30pm to book your appointment.
If you wish to speak to or see a doctor,or nurse practitioner,or nurse, you will be offered a same day appointment with an available clinician for an urgent problem. If the problem is not urgent you will be offered an appointment booked ahead with a named clinician. If the problem can be dealt with over the phone you will be offered a time when a clinician will phone you to discuss this.
At the Front Desk.
Appointments can be booked ahead at the front desk in the same way as by telephone.
Walk-in Clinics
We have an Open Access clinic every morning Monday to Friday. A limited number of Patients can be seen in these clinics therefore, are for 'same day' issues only. There is no appointment system in operation and so are on a 'first come first served' arrangement.
Please let us know if you are unable to keep your appointment so that it may be offered to someone else.
Cancellations
If you have booked an appointment and cannot keep it please let us know so that someone else can have the appointment. You can cancel appointments by either:
- speaking in person face to face with a receptionist
- by calling our cancellation line 0121 5656763. You will need to leave your name, date of birth, appointment date and time of the appointment
- by sending a text reply 'cancel' to your text message reminder which you will receive the day before your appointment
